For the first full day in Zion and the first 'big' canyon of the trip we were able to get a permit for Mystery. This was the perfect choice as the canyon had it all - a nice approach and then a wonderful canyon with a dozen or so drops. I really didn't know what to expect and around every corner and at the bottom of every drop was a mystery waiting to be discovered. Highlights were some fantastic narrows and then the spectacular Mystery Spring rappel.
Zion is a very popular park and the crowds were waiting for us at the final rappel into The Narrows. After six hours of being immeresed in the canyon without a hint of other people dropping the final 120' down Mystery Falls with a crowd of hundreds watching was quite a contrast to the solitude the rest of the canyon provided.
