I rode Butter Gap with Yuri E. on Sunday. We did the normal route:
At some point we got confused.
There were some neat rocks along the way that made for really good mountain biking in pisgah.
This was really good stuff.

On Saturday I went out with Duma and once again with limited time decided not to do anything 'big' and instead picked off a wildlife road that I have been wanting to complete for awhile:
It had some unique to me views of Cedar Rock that got my imagination going:
We made a loop of it using another trail I'll leave you to find on your own. It made for an easy ten mile run and at the end we were a little disappointed we hadn't gone any longer. That seems to be a recurring theme these days but I just can't seem to find the motivation to exert myself these days. In case you haven't heard the Horrible Race is happening in a few weeks. I've never missed one and also have never finished one. With just six mountain bike rides since the Double Dare I'm sure it isn't a good idea for me to push a bike for 36 hours but good ideas are not my strong suit and it might provide the perfect opportunity for some mid winter exertion. For now I'm officially on the fence and with lots of work deadlines looming will leave it for a last minute decision.
Have you seen this gnome?
